Seventh Year Schedule of The Saturday Film Discussion Group - Please Feel Free to Join Us!

 Welcome to The Saturday Film Discussion Group.   We have recently voted to determine the films on our Seventh Year Schedule.   The list is at the bottom of this blog post.    These films are the next 12 months worth of discussion fodder for our group.  Some are individual selections and some are groupings of films.    Our 7th year of  discussions starts on October 19, 2024.   

The last selection of our 6th year (La Notte) will be discussed on Saturday, September 21, 2024. 

We were formed in March of 2018.  We are about to start our seventh year or "season."  We were originally based in Southwestern Ohio with a lot of our members being from the Milford / Miami Township area.   However, we now meet via Zoom.  Therefore, the group is really open to a much wider swath of participants.   You can be located almost anywhere in the world and participate in our Zoom meetings.   We usually have between six and eight participants in our meetings and would certainly welcome a few more.  Let us know if you are interested!

We generally meet on the third Saturday of each month at 1 p.m.  Meetings usually last around 90 minutes to 2 hours.  Some people only come occasionally.  Some, no doubt, base their attendance on which film we are discussing in a particular month.

The film group works very much like a book club.  We meet once a month to discuss one or two specific pre-determined films.  The group members will be responsible for watching the film or films on their own time sometime in the days or weeks before the meeting.

Group members can see each month's selection in many different ways.  They can buy a new or used DVD of the film.  They can watch the film on a streaming service.  The can rent the film on a video on demand platform.  They can check a DVD of the film out of the library.
